Skardu is the gateway to some of the most dramatic landscapes in the world, from the turquoise lakes to the vast Deosai Plains and the towering peaks of the Karakoram. This 5 day expedition takes you on an incredible journey through Baltistan, visiting the famous Shangrila Resort, the crystal waters of Upper Kachura Lake, the ancient Shigar Fort, and the awe inspiring Deosai National Park, one of the highest plateaus in the world. The Sarfaranga Cold Desert offers a surreal contrast to the green valleys, making Skardu a photographer's paradise and an adventurer's dream.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Journey to Skardu via KKH
Depart from Islamabad via the Karakoram Highway. Travel through Besham, Chilas, and along the Indus River. Enjoy the dramatic mountain scenery throughout the drive. Arrive in Skardu by evening.
Day 2: Shangrila Resort & Upper Kachura Lake
Visit the famous Shangrila Resort and Lower Kachura Lake. Take a boat ride on the turquoise waters. Continue to Upper Kachura Lake for a more serene experience. Visit the local bazaar in the evening.
Day 3: Deosai National Park
Full day excursion to Deosai National Park, the second highest plateau in the world. Spot wildlife including the Himalayan Brown Bear. Visit Sheosar Lake within Deosai. Return to Skardu for dinner.
Day 4: Shigar Fort & Sarfaranga Desert
Visit the beautifully restored Shigar Fort and Mosque in the morning. Drive to the Sarfaranga Cold Desert for a unique desert at altitude experience. Visit the confluence point of the Indus and Shigar Rivers.
Day 5: Return Journey
Begin the return journey to Islamabad via KKH. Stop at scenic viewpoints along the way. Arrive in Islamabad by late evening.
