Packing for a trip to northern Pakistan requires balancing warmth, comfort, and practicality. The weather in mountain regions can change rapidly, with warm sunny afternoons giving way to chilly evenings. Whether you are heading to Hunza, Skardu, Naran, or Kashmir, a well packed bag makes all the difference.

For clothing, layer your outfits. Start with moisture wicking base layers, add a fleece or light down jacket for warmth, and carry a waterproof outer shell for unexpected rain. Even in summer, temperatures at higher altitudes like Babusar Top, Khunjerab Pass, or Deosai can drop below freezing. Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip are essential, especially if you plan to trek to places like Fairy Meadows or Arang Kel.
